Heading to Denver

We have made it to Nebraska but we will have to wait to walk across it. We now must head to Denver to make it across the Rockies before bad weather sets in. Sometime in the next two weeks we will go to Denver to attempt to beat winter in the Rockies.  We are trying to raise support for special gear needed for what is the most challenging part of our journey. We are in need of winter backpacking items such as boots, gloves, baselayers, bear spray, etc... Some items can be purchased at Wal-Mart so gift cards can be purchased. Any support is appreciated and needed. Please continue to pray for this walk. God Bless.

Trekking Across Iowa

We are within one week of finishing Iowa and it has been an adventure. Iowa has some of the kindest people, some of the most beautiful scenery and some very diverse terrain. We have been pushing ourselves through Iowa by walking 20+ miles day after day with some 30 mile days.  We have to get to the Rockies before the snow sets in or we might not be able to finish. We have seen the world's biggest bull and we were first responders when two cyclists collided head on while passing us on a rail trail. Both cyclists had injuries and the police and rescue squad had to come down the trail to transport the injured. We have walked a couple hundred miles of flat and a couple hundred mile of hills. Through cities, small towns, fields of corn and secluded  bike trails where there seems to not be any reason to keep time. We have truly been blessed to have had the opportunity to meet some great people in a great state. We are glad our trail took us this way. Praise God

A walk into the past...

We enjoyed spending time today at the Birthplace of our 31st US President Herbert Hoover at his Presidential Library and Museum. Here are some pictures of what we saw. It really is interesting to me how we are able to walk and see and do some of the same things people from so long ago did! I have always loved History and I really appreciate places like this. Very interesting thing to go see.
