Backpacking Believers

We spent some time at Lake Guntersville State Park today and we actually did feed the wildlife! These deer are free in the park and they come and go as they please. However, they are protected and most if not all have been raised in the park, and they are used to people. The park offers corn for a fee and lets you "Feed The Wildlife" unlike most places. The park also offers some beautiful views and December through February you can watch eagles as they take up residence in the park. Hope you enjoy. Today we went out looking for waterfalls. We had about 5 inches of rain the day before so we figured we should be able to find some waterfalls and we did. We were able to view some of the most amazing waterfalls we have ever seen. Just being near some of this water and feeling it moving through the ground was kind of intimidating, but we all fared well. The pictures cannot do the justice deserved, but we will share them anyway, enjoy. We made a quick stop by Noccalula Falls Park on our way to Northeast Alabama. The falls were flowing very well because of all of the rain we received the night before. Here are some pictures of the cold windy morning above the falls.

This is a combination blog of two different trails not too far from our house. We had a great time on these trails and we also got to eat some great food. We did a little rock climbing, a lot of walking, and we also got to spend some time with our dogs. The weather was cool and there weren't too many people out on these days. We did see one solo hiker doing an overnighter on the Skyway trail and a couple of guys who just finished the 17 mile loop. No matter how much time we spend in the outdoors it just never seems to be enough. We thank God for our love of His creation.
