Frozen Falls in Alabama

Image
We set out early in the morning on a freezing 8 degree day  in search of frozen waterfalls. We found the falls frozen and beautiful. We also found ourselves becoming frozen. We had frozen legs, hands, beards, eyebrows and eyelashes but it was well worth it.God is amazing in his beautiful works of creation. We hope you will be encouraged to go outside even in the cold and  explore his marvelous handiwork.  Happy Hiking and Stay Warm Cheaha Falls Cheaha Falls Icicles on the rocks Katy Did and Gentle Fir feeling Frozen High Falls High Falls Icy High Falls swimming area   BURRRRRR High Falls upper falls.... Lake Guntersville State Park

Image
We spent some time at Lake Guntersville State Park today and we actually did feed the wildlife! These deer are free in the park and they come and go as they please. However, they are protected and most if not all have been raised in the park, and they are used to people. The park offers corn for a fee and lets you "Feed The Wildlife" unlike most places. The park also offers some beautiful views and December through February you can watch eagles as they take up residence in the park. Hope you enjoy. Mabrey Lookout Doe and her fawn Herd of deer in park Isn't she beautiful? They are eating out of our hands! I didn't know deer slobber could be so much fun Another herd of deer and there were more coming.  A sad but true fact.

Waterfalls in December

Image
Today we went out looking for waterfalls. We had about 5 inches of rain the day before so we figured we should be able to find some waterfalls and we did. We were able to view some of the most amazing waterfalls we have ever seen. Just being near some of this water and feeling it moving through the ground was kind of intimidating, but we all fared well. The pictures cannot do the justice deserved, but we will share them anyway, enjoy.
