Hey We Are Over Halfway......

Hello Everyone,
It has been some time since we have posted. We have finally passed the halfway point of our journey across America. It has been such a blessing to walk across Nebraska. The first  part of Nebraska was full of our loving family who supported us with slack packing. We were blessed with spending a lot of time with our dear Grandmother. What a blessing. Nebraska has had the nicest people willing to help you achieve your mission. You may have this thinking that this state is flat and uneventful but it is in fact just the opposite. Nebraska, is beautiful. We felt as though we were in a different country. This state changes from river vallies, wetlands, plateaus, sand hills, canyons, prairies, rocky desert areas, to tumble weeds and cactus. You can see antelope, prairie dog towns, all kinds of water fowl, prairie rattlers, elk, big horn sheep, mountain goats and mountain lions and buffalo and much more...all in one amazing state. We have walked around 524+ miles across this state alone and have met all kinds of people along our walk. We have witnessed corn and soybean harvest up close and personal and waved hello to nearly every one we have seen. We have walked miles by Union Pacific Railroad and now each train that passes knows to wave because we have waved at them, what a joy to see them now waving and blowing their horns to us. We encourage you to come out and explore what Nebraska has to offer you. Thank you for joining us as we strive to Walk in Love across America and to carry the Love of Jesus to ALL we meet along our journey.

We Love you ALL,
GentleFir and Backpacking Believers

Fall is here

Well Fall is here and the temperatures are much cooler here in Nebraska. We have spent some nights below freezing already and it is only the second week of October. We have found to be true what so many hikers before us have said about the Mid-West and that is, "the people are very friendly". We were helped by our loving family members through the first part of Nebraska and since we have met some very kind people on our walk. We have walked through miles of corn and other crops and harvest is in full swing so watch out for those grain trucks and tractors. Most importantly we have been able to share the Love of God with many many people. We were able join in on bible study after a long day's journey and we have stood in a Pony Express station and learned about the great history of our country. God has been merciful to us. Please continue to join us on our Walk in Love Across America.
