Family Christmas 2017

Hello to all, and Happy Spring! We said we would start traveling on December 1 st and we did until now. Again we have seen some amazing things and we have met some amazing people also. Oh yeah, and KatyDid got married! Well, I think I will have to break up this blog up in to multiple parts, since we have seen so much. So here we go. We started out by going to one of our favorite places for Christmas, Branson, MO. We started by going to a few shows. First the Dixie Stampede where to food is always great and the action is even better. Second we went to the Sight and Sound theater where the play the Miracle of Christmas was showing. If you have not been to a Sight and Sound theater before, you should put it on your bucket list now. Then of course we went to Silver Dollar City where there are shows behind every door, and roller coasters to ride between them. Who are we?

Welcome to Backpacking Believers! We are Chris and Jennifer, two lifelong adventurers bound together by our faith, a deep love for the outdoors, and a passion for meeting people where they are. For years, our open-road journeys took us across the United States and across borders as we drove into Canada and Mexico. Driven by a desire to experience creation at a slower, deeper pace, we eventually set out to backpack the American Discovery Trail—walking thousands of miles from both the Atlantic and Pacific oceans to meet in Denver. Along every highway, dirt path, and mountain pass, we discovered that the greatest beauty wasn't just in the landscapes, but in the people we met along the way. These days, our trail looks a little different. While our long-distance trekking boots might be resting, our hearts for adventure are as active as ever. We are currently soaking up precious time with our grandkids and family, finding everyday outdoor adventures closer to home and teaching the next generation to appreciate the wonders of the natural world. Through every chapter of our lives—whether trekking across the continent or hiking local trails with our grandchildren—our ultimate mission remains the same: sharing God’s love with strangers and shining a light of hope, kindness, and mercy wherever our feet carry us.
