Dowdell Knob Loop (F.D. Roosevelt State Park)

Hello to all,
We are relaxing now after a great day outdoors. We woke up early to go and hike a local hike and ended up about 1 1/2 hours away in Georgia at F.D. Roosevelt State Park. We found out there are many trails there along with other things to do. We hike a 4.3 mile trail called the Dowdell Knob Loop. This is a very diverse trail with many things to offer. We hiked through severe tornado damage, soggy bottoms, rock outcrops, across a stream, and next to some pretty good drop offs where we had to watch every step. The weather was supposed to be clear with about a 10% chance of rain but we found out quickly that this had changed when it rained lightly most of the day, but this kept the temperatures down to a nice medium. We were escorted by our friend Tookie Tookie 66 and had the privilege once again of meeting other people with like interests and a love for the outdoors.

Not All Who Wander Are Lost

This showed us there was intelligent life near

   Hi, Friends and Family, this is Jennifer  I know it has been a long time since I have written or posted anything. Traveling life as we have known it all these years had to come to a complete stop for the time being. Catching Up

Hello from somewhere on the road, We are still traveling and still enjoying the life given to us. Our hopes are that we will start blogging again and quit being sooo lazy. Lol!  We still haven't written our book or done any videos or much else that we should have. BUT we have become grandparents, purchased a large camper and truck, embarked on many career opportunities, taken 1000's of photos and seen all but 5 states. So why not share our experiences with others? We will share some stories, photos and of course some wonderful memories that have made us who we are. We hope to help others who are considering a life on the road and encourage others through our travels and faith. Congaree National Park

The park officials told us that although funny it is also very serious.   Congaree National Park near Hopkins, SC  Now, we are heading back to Nebraska to visit more with family and go on another Christmas vacation. So we always look ahead to see if there is anything we want to see that is not tooooo far out of the way. Well a days drive is never too far. We mapped it and found some good barbecue and a couple of National Parks. Flooded boardwalk in Congaree National Park First stop, Congaree National Park. I must admit I had never heard of Congaree and I sure didn't know South Carolina had a national park. They do have one and it is worth visiting if you like natural wet lands and swamps like we do.
